നവം 08, 2000Issue of Rs 100 notes in Mahatma Gandhi Series with capital letter "F" inset in numbering panelsThe Reserve Bank of India will shortly be issuing Rs. 100 notes in Mahatma Gandhi Series bearing the signature of Dr.Bimal Jalan, Governor with capital letter `F' inset in both numbering panels. Except for this change, the design of the Rs 100 notes to be issued now is similar to those issued earlier in the `Mahatma Gandhi' Series. ഒക്ടോ 05, 2000RBI to issue Banknotes in Denomination of Rs.1000The Reserve Bank of India will issue with effect from October 9, 2000, banknotes in the denomination of Rs.1000 in the Mahatma Gandhi series bearing the Mahatma Gandhi portrait in the watermark.The notes bear the signature of Dr. Bimal Jalan, Governor of the Reserve Bank. The length of the note is 177 mm and the width is 73 mm. സെപ്റ്റം 29, 2000RBI caution about reproduction of Currency NotesIt has come to the notice of the Reserve Bank of India that toys with the reproduction of bank notes of Rs.1, 2, 5 and 50 are being sold in the market. The Reserve Bank has cautioned the members of public that reproduction of bank notes and selling/possessing the toys/items looking like bank notes is an offence under the law. The Reserve Bank has advised the members of the public not to indulge in such activities.N.S.D. Lobo Asstt. The Reserve Bank of India has stated that it has authorised all the branches of public sector banks, as also certain private sector banks maintaining currency chests to accept and exchange all types of soiled/mutilated notes which are payable under the Reserve Bank of India (Note Refund) Rules. ഫെബ്രു 25, 2000Acceptance of Rs.500 denomination notes.It has come to the notice of the Reserve Bank that certain newspapers have published news items with lists of series of Rs.500/- denomination notes purported to have been issued by the Reserve Bank of India with the instruction that notes in these series should not be accepted. The Reserve Bank would like to clarify, for public benefit, that it has not issued any list of any series of notes as has appeared in a section of the Press.
