يناير 11, 2019RBI imposes monetary penalty on Citibank NA IndiaThe Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has, by an order dated January 4, 2019 imposed a monetary penalty of ₹ 30 million on Citibank NA India (the bank) for deficiencies in compliance with the RBI instructions on ‘Fit and Proper’ criteria for directors of banks. It has, therefore, been considered necessary that a comprehensive review is undertaken to identify causes and propose long term solutions, for the economic and financial sustainability of the MSME sector. Towards this end, it was announced in the Fifth Bi-Monthly Monetary Policy Statement for 2018-1Considering the importance of the MSMEs in the Indian economy, it is essential to understand the structural bottlenecks and factors affecting the performance of the MSMEs.
