Investment by NRIs/OCBs under PIS in shares of Indian companies

The Reserve Bank of India on December 26, 2000 has notified that non-resident Indians (NRIs) and overseas corporate bodies (OCBs) can now purchase through stock exchanges equity shares and convertible debentures of M/s Padmini Technologies Ltd. (formerly Padmini Polymers Ltd.) upto 24 per cent of its paid up capital under the portfolio investment scheme (PIS), as the company has passed a resolution to this effect in its general body meeting.
