The Reserve Bank of India on July 16, 1999 has notified that no further purchases of shares of M/s. Seirra Optima Ltd., should made by non-resident Indians (NRIs)/overseas corporate bodies (OCBs)/persons of Indian origin (PIO) under the portfolio investment scheme. The Reserve Bank has stated that M/s. Seirra Optima Ltd., has reached the overall ceiling of ten per cent of its paid up equity capital.
