Investment by NRIs/OCBs/PIOs In shares of Indian companies

The Reserve Bank of India on September 5, 2000 has notified that non-resident Indians (NRIs) / overseas corporate bodies (OCBs) and persons of Indian origin (PIOs) can now purchase equity shares and convertible debentures of M/s. VisualSoft Technologies Ltd., up to 24 per cent and foreign institutional investors (FIIs) up to 40 per cent of its paid up capital. The purchases will have to be made through stock exchanges under the portfolio investment scheme (PIS)
