Investment by FIIs in Indian companies
The Reserve Bank of India has notified on February 9, 2000 that the aggregate net purchases of equity shares of M/s Global Telesystems Ltd., by foreign institutional investors (FIIs) in the primary/secondary markets has reached the limit of 22 per cent of its paid up capital. No further purchases of equity shares of M/s. Global Telesystems Ltd. will, therefore, be allowed on behalf of the FIIs without obtaining prior approval of the Reserve Bank.
