Investment by NRIs / OCBs / PIOs in shares of Indian companies

The Reserve Bank of India on March 5, 2001 has notified that no further purchases of shares of Global Trust Bank Ltd., should be made in the secondary market on behalf of non-resident Indians (NRIs) / overseas corporate bodies (OCBs) and persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) as the holdings by NRIs / OCBs and PIOs have reached the overall ceiling of 10 per cent of its paid up capital.
