மே 24, 2007Customers can now appeal against the Banking Ombudsman's DecisionBank customers can now appeal against the decision of the Banking Ombudsman where he has rejected the customer's complaint relating to matters falling within the grounds of complaints specified under the scheme. The Reserve Bank of India has amended the Banking Ombudsman Scheme, 2006 to enable the customers to appeal against the Banking Ombudsman's decision. The amendments are available on the RBI website. ஆக. 21, 2006RBI releases Report of Committee on Financial Sector Plan for NE RegionIt may be recalled that, the Reserve Bank of India had, on January 25, 2006, set up a committee to achieve greater financial inclusion and provision of financial services in the North-Eastern region (NER) and also to prepare an appropriate state-specific monitorable action plan for the region. Deputy Governor, Smt. Usha Thorat was the Chairman of the Committee. The Committee has since submitted its report, which is now placed in the Reserve Bank's website. மார். 26, 2003Banking Ombudsman Scheme 1995 - Highlights of its functioning so farThe Reserve Bank of India has published a report on review of the Banking Ombudsman Scheme 1995 for the period 1998-99 to 2001-02. According to this report, the number of complaints received during the periods 1999-2000, 2000-01 and 2001-02 stood at 4994, 5803 and 5907 respectively. Comparable figure for the year 1998-99 (April-March) was 6062. As compared to the complaints received during 1998-99, there is a decrease of 2.5 per cent during 2001-02.
