Mar 31, 2020India’s International Investment Position (IIP), December 2019Today, the Reserve Bank released data relating to India’s International Investment Position (IIP) at end-December 2019. Key Features of India’s IIP in December 2019 Net claims of non-residents on India declined by US$ 10.4 billion to US $ 426.5 billion during the quarter ended December 2019 (Table 1). Dec 31, 2019India’s International Investment Position (IIP), September 2019Today, the Reserve Bank released data relating to India’s International Investment Position at end-September 2019. Key Features of India’s IIP in September 2019 Net claims of non-residents on India declined by US$ 14.8 billion during July-September 2019 (Table 1). The decline in net claims was due to an increase of US$ 7.4 billion in Indian residents’ overseas financial assets and a reduction in foreign-owned assets in India by US $ 7.4 billion during the quarter. Feb 28, 2019Signing of the Bilateral Swap Arrangement between Japan and IndiaThe Bank of Japan (BOJ), acting as the agent for the Minister of Finance of Japan, and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) signed a Bilateral Swap Arrangement (BSA) that takes effect from today (February 28, 2019). The BSA enables both countries to swap their local currencies (i.e., either Japanese yen or Indian rupee) against US dollar for an amount of up to USD 75 billion.
