Investment by NRIs/OCBs/PIOs In shares of Indian companies

The Reserve Bank of India on August 11, 2000 has notified that non-resident Indians (NRIs) / overseas corporate bodies (OCBs) and persons of Indian origin (PIOs) can now purchase equity shares and convertible debentures of M/s Burr Brown (India) Ltd., upto 24 per cent of its paid up capital through stock exchanges under the portfolio investment scheme (PIS). The Reserve Bank has also notified that Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) can now purchase equity shares and covertible debentures of M/s Burr Brown (India) Ltd upto 40 per cent of its paid up capital through primary / secondary markets in India, under portfolio investment scheme. The Reserve Bank has stated that the Company has passed a board/general body resolution to this effect.
